Project 2:
Construction Drawing
Introduction
Architects must have the basic understanding the structure of the building. For example, how is it being supported? Furthermore, knowing the detail of doors, windows, walls, stairs, and the foundation. This project will give a better understanding of each of the requirements to students on how it works.
Project Overview
In a group of 5 we were assigned to to produce a construction drawing of our previous studio work and include the folowing requirements such as: walls, windows, stairs, doors, railings, roof, and a second level. Students were allow to choose the different materiality of the roof and walls.
From what I learned in this project was learning about the sectional detail of window, doors, walls, and roof. It was interesting as we get to learn its detail and how it function. Furthermore, following the UBBL which is the Uniform Building (Amendment) By-Laws that we implemented into our building, by understanding the UBBL we got the overall understanding what has to be standardised such as the distance when placing padded foundation, primary structure columns, and staircase.
