Introduction
Introduction
Passive Design helps to take advantage of the nature climate and implemented into the building design. It helps to reduce the negative impact to the global system such as greenhouse gas emissions from cooling, heating, lighting, and mechanical heating. Using Daylighting can be included into the design strategy in buildings, that not only lit up inside the building but helps the occupants' performance and their well-being. Daylighting needs to be controlled in order to achieve the desired thermal, psychological comforts, and visual. This is to reduce high usage of artificial lighting and other energy consumptions.
Introduction
In this project, a group of six were given a task to select a case study of a building, where we have to analyse the comfort level of a person being in the building. Moreover, to identify its passive design strategies for daylighting and how can we improve the building to achieve the level of comfort factor. We were allowed to use software such as Revit, SkecthUp or other software to produce a model to analyse the Daylighting. By the end of the project, we were to compile our research into 2 A3 Paper.

Video Of The Sun Path On Sketchup
Reflection
What I learned from this project was using the software (Revit) to conduct Dayligthing analysis to discover the lux value and its sun path, and using Velux which is a software to find out the Daylighting Factor. After extracting the data we had from both softwares, we began to analyse our research on how it would achieve the desired visual and psychological effect of a person, and whether or not there were any improvements needed. Moreover, using our model that we created in SketchUp, it gave us a better view inside the building that pointed out the building's passive design. It was interesting how we were able to highlight the building's passive design and analyse it, as the building is located in Tokyo, which is a country that has different seasons compare to tropical country.
